Keeping in Contact

Today I got an email from the folks at Tiny Prints regarding their current sale, it's a good one y'all! Now is a perfect time to stock up for those oh so important notes I just know y'all are working on - not going to call anyone out but I know for a fact at least three of you should be working your way through a stack of thank you notes. Personally, I'm in need of more congratulations cards - seems like I know so many people doing awesome things. Here's the information: There has literally never been a better time to order from Tiny Prints.

If you're not familiar with their top-notch, classy stationery, you should be. Whether you need birth announcements, graduation party or baby shower invitations, photo iPad cases or notebooks, and any of your personalized stationery needs, Tiny Prints has it all.

All of their products are customized to your needs. You choose the photos and text to add to their awesome designs and then...you impress the recipients.

Fashion Find Friday Preowned Pretty

Happy Friday y'all! Sorry I missed you last week but I'm back and ready to discuss more fun fashion finds. You saw this purse earlier this week when I shared what's in it but lets take a moment to discuss the purse itself, and how it came into my possession.
I have no idea of the style name or season of this purse as it came from a consignment shop. But it is a leather purse by St.John. I seriously cannot find this purse online anywhere so if you know what it is and the original retail price please let me know, just for my fun knowledge. Research indicates that this purse would have retailed for at least a few hundred dollars, I paid $65 - woohoo! Besides the color, which obviously I love, my favorite thing about this purse is how soft the leather is, very similar to a channel purse.

I'm not crazy about the acrylic chain on the strap but I do enjoy the button detailing:

And it fits all of my contents quite nicely:

The one thing I don't like is how delicate the…

In the Bag

Have you noticed that I tend to group my posts around a particular topic or mood? Ugh, sorry. So as much as I've got as my thoughts on ACA and the 2nd amendment buzzing around in my head they're going to have to wait in an effort to not be too political in one week. So let's talk about something fun and girly: PURSES! Honestly, I forget which one it is but one of the magazines I read features the contents of a celebrity's purse each month. They are shockingly normal with what they carry around everyday! Although I'm far from being a celebrity I thought it might be fun to share with you all the contents of my purse. You can tell a lot about a person by the stuff they carry around. It seems I always have some sort of fun trinket in my purse. My dad said it should worry me that I had no problem digging up stuff to entertain my 2 year old 2nd cousin when family was in town last summer but I say it just shows that I'm fun. So here's what I've got: 1. LV ag…

Thank you, Thank you very much

Every time I hear that sending thank you notes today will set one apart I'm a little shocked, I know plenty of people who send thank you notes. But I also probably know a few who do not and just don't want to admit it. If you're ever in doubt about when to send a thank you note or need some ideas to get you in the habit than fear not, I am here to offer you some advise. Most of this I feel is common (apparently semi common) knowledge I've gathered over the years but I'll also offer you some special practices I have developed. I've also got some pictures of the type of card that might be appropriate. All examples are available at Tiny Prints. Job Interviews Seriously, it really shocks me that people don't do this. If you want the job, send a thank you note. I usually keep some in my car and will write it and take to the post office as soon as the interview is over. In fact, if you know the decision is going to be made the next day write it in the parking l…

On another note

About a week ago I started a Facebook thread about thank you notes. I'm still putting together my thoughts for the post but the cliff notes version is they are important. In addition to thank you notes I also keep a few other types of stationary on hand.
Congratulations Cards:

Sadly, sympathy cards:

Wedding and Baby cards, which I haven't had to use in a few months so I didn't have handy for a picture. And then of course, generic multipurpose cards:

Monogrammed of course! These have a linen finish for an extra touch of polished prep. I get these 10 or 20 of each at a time and I reorder throughout the year.
As much as I love to send cards I'm far from perfect so please don't think I'm being preachy here on perfect card sending etiquette. I have about 20 written sitting on my desk now to be addressed and stamped this week. Ideally cards for all occasions would go out promptly but hey, life gets in the way. I operate under better late than never.
Although I do ver…

Laugh A Lot

Last night I was able to see Spamalot at Playhouse on the Square here in Memphis. This was a community manager yelp event open to all yelpers. Since Shaun doesn't like the theater and I LOVE it I was super excited to attend with a group of people. I don't know why I just don't go more often on my own, it's not like there's interaction during the show. Point being, I was psyched, and since I never saw the Monty Python movie all the jokes were new to me.
The group met up at 7:30 in the lobby to grab a drink and meetup before the show. It was nice to see that I knew someone in the group, fellow Memphis blogger and foodie AC; I was also great to meet the Memphis Yelp Community manager before the show - she's so nice y'all! Before going in we got a picture of the group.

Playhouse on the Square was nice enough to give us front row tickets. Check out the view:

Although truth of the matter is there's no bad seat in the house - I've been to plenty of perform…
