Lots of people have been posting about the lash extending mascara craze so I just has to get on it. I just loved getting false eyelashes attached but it was very time consuming, and a little uncomfortable. I read somewhere that long lush lashes can make you look young and I must say I agree.
These pics are from last summer a week apart before and after false lashes:
I just feel like I look "fresher" post lashes.
So when a FB friend posted about younique I was very intrigued, could I get the same look without gluing on false lashes? The fact that the product was on back order was already a good sign of the popularity but it didn't take too long to arrive. The product was packaged securely and comes in its own hard case.
It's fairly simple to use: one swipe of regular mascara, one swipe of younique gel, one swipe of fibers, repeat the gel and fibers a 2nd time and a final swipe of gel to "set" the fibers. To test my results I took 3 pictures, one with no mascara, one with traditional mascara and one with the 3D mascara. Here's the results :
A few from the side shows the length difference better:
As you can see I naturally have fairly dark lashes with decent length, but the 3D certainly makes them look more full.
Now granted, I've aged 8 months but here's false lashes vs younique as I look IRL (because no one goes up to you and stares at your lashes)
The false lashes are a little darker but I think it's a very similar look. Price point is about the same so it really comes down to time and comfort here.
