Fashion Find Friday: Cinderella for Grown Ups

A few weeks ago I found out that Kohl's would be releasing a collection of Cinderella themed clothing to promote the upcoming movie in March. Look how pretty:

I LOVED Cinderella as a kid . . . Who am I kidding, she's still my favorite.
Exhibit A:

So going to see the collection was a top priority this weekend. The collection was set to be released on the 22nd but I think I was available earlier because that blue skirt is already sold out in some sizes.
But don't worry y'all, I was still able to grab this:

That skirt has a castle and enchanted landscape scene, it's gorgeous in person.
I've wanted a tulle skirt for awhile now but admit that as a plus size girl they make me nervous. I've seen lots of plus size girls rocking them though and my desire for this particular skirt overrode my fears, I FEEL like a princess in it! The key it seems to pulling off a tulle skirt is the tucked in top and worn high on the waist. I'm honestly not sure if I'll wear the…

Oily Clean

It's taking input Thursday and per request I'm giving a beauty post.
I talk about this a lot in my beauty posts but have never really addressed this in its own post. So today I'm going back to basics and talking about oil cleansing. I first heard about oil cleansing in 2013 from a sorority sister and was very doubtful. Oil cleansing is the process of cleaning oneself with oil rather than soap and water (not to be confused with oil pulling which is a procedure of using oil as a mouth wash of sorts to pull bacteria from the body).
I have oily skin, so the idea of rubbing my face with oil seemed crazy - it will cause clogged pores I thought! But I pondered the idea for a bit and it started to make sense - oil desolves oil (ie gross yuck stuck in pores) and soap and water strip it away and cause the skin to produce more - think of soap as like a crash diet for your skin. So, I gave it a try and guess what, I get blemishes less often, my skin feels healthier and I don't fee…

Essential Oil Make and Take

This year I've been doing a lot of homemade products and while it started off as being tired of running to the store for laundry detergent and face wash every few weeks its turned into more than that. As I researched and lookedup recipes   I started to discover that I could use homemade products for my health! I get migraines y'all and I will do ANYTHING to treat them. I've unsuccessful taken preventative medicine, destroyed my liver and stomach lining with OTC treatments for years, drained my bank account on prescription drugs, gone to the chiropractor, severally limited my alcohol and I still get them. My remaining options were: Botox, acupuncture, and moving to Colorado. But now I have hope. So where am I finding this hope? In essential oils.
I've spent the past month really looking into it and decided I have nothing to lose. So as I was looking into different brands a FB friend posted that she was having an Essential Oils 101 class and Make and Take - perfect timin…

Secret Gift Exchange

Have y'all ever participated in a long distance gift exchange? I've done several using the Elfster site and they are lots of fun. Even though the name suggests a Christmas time exchange gifts can be swapped year round. Right now a few of my sorority sisters are doing a birthday exchange for the year and I recently participated in a Valentine exchange within a Facebook group I participate in.
To start an exchange you need a organizer and willing group of participants. The organizer sends out email invitations to participants, once everyone has accepted or the deadline for accepting is reached the organizer  matches participants (this is done automatically). Each participant can upload items to a wish list and ask and answer questions secretly. From there, you buy a gift and send it out. In some exchanges you reveal yourself with you gift but others prefer to keep it mysterious.
For a recent exchange we had a $20 spending limit and were asked to limit gifts to small treats.

What …
