An Open Letter to Lilly Pulitzer

Dear Lilly Pulitzer,
As I type this I am wearing one of your clothing items - the Braylen in Southern Charm from spring 2014 to be exact - but apparently that is offensive to you, or at least to one of your employees. When I got dressed this morning I selected this top mostly because it was clean and I was in a rush but also because it was my favorite top. It's comfortable, I consider it flattering and the print makes me happy. But instead of spending $88 on a cotton top I am apparently not worthy of I should just kill myself.
I am of course referring to the picture in a recent article on the company's workplace:

Oh yeah, I should probably mention that I wear a size 18, also known as being "fat, white, and hideous" in your office. Ugh, how dare I wear your clothes!
I am not a life long customer. For some reason your clothes weren't too much of a "thing" at my small, private southern college but it is in my hometown. For years I drooled over the pretty d…

Crafty Happies

I have a few posts I'm working on right now but they're a little more serious in their nature so I want to focus on some fun little happiness to start off the four day week!
Over the weekend I was in major on the prowl for craft supplies mode. Do y'all watch Elizabeth Modero on YouTube? If not you really should, I have a total girl crush on her; the channel is Modero Green Moments. But anyway, she's been talking a lot latley about her Erin Condren planner and it got me thinking that I have a few goals I'd like to focus on and a planner might be a great way to keep me on track. After spending waaaay too much time debating my options I decided a similar but more customizable planner was more for me and I ordered a Plum Paper Designs planner. But of course, I need nice pens, washi tape, stickers, labels and fun stuff to go with it. In case I've never said this before it's important you know I have a MAJOR love for stationary products and craft supplies.
So aft…

Redneck Disney

Nothing says the "I live in the South" more than a giant bait and tackle shop being a big attraction in your home town.
In Memphis, we have this giant pyramid building (short version: Memphis an ancient Egyptian city so . . .) at one point it was our big arena but renovating was cost prohibitive so we built a new one and this building sat empty for years until it was leased by the Bass Pro Shop. So, now we have a giant Bass Pro Shop, aka Redneck Disney.
Here's the exterior:

So naturally I had to check this place out. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
The traffic was so heavy it was redirected in one way. Once in the parking lot they had fancy directional signs - see disneyesque

The exterior was really fancy but doesn't tie in the pyramid shape of the building at all:

You even had to enter through turnstiles - disneyesque!

Here's a good view of the interior:

Overall it is very nice inside and has lots of neat things to see.
Pretty wildlife scenery:
