And so it begins

I've been working on this post for awhile but I wasn't quite ready to share it with the world. Some of you might still be wondering why I'm sharing. Well we're married a year now, we bought the big house in the good school district so I know you're wondering - when are they going to have a baby. So now you don't have to feel awkward asking if we're trying to conceive (TTC) the answer is no - well not yet at least. Right now we're on a plan I'm referring to as pre-TTC.
My Pre-TTC tools - tracking planner, thermometer and prescription  It's awkward to be honest - there's lots of online groups and forums for women TTC but no one really talks about pre TTC, it's like you just wake up and one day say ok, we're now ready to have a baby. But as I've learned, it's really not that simple. I've had conversations with a very few people about this on one hand here I am bitching about how this is something that isn't talked abou…

Festive AF Holiday Style

WooHoo!!!! It's December and I couldn't be more excited. Every year I set a goal to do 25 Christmas festive things from Dec 1st to 25th and every year I wind up missing a few days but this year I feel more prepared than ever so I've decided to increased the challenge and not only do 25 festive things this month but to wear 25 festive outfits to go with those activities. This month we'll be doing Christmas activities from holiday concerts to light displays to making our own gingerbread house and of course going to Church on Christmas Eve. Some outfits might have just a touch of festiveness while on others I plan on going all out but be prepared for lots of sparkle, plaid, tulle, fur and bling for the next 25 days on my Instagram feed. I'll also post each outfit here with links to the items or similar styles if it's something from a previous collection, I mean let's not get crazy, y'all don't think I'm going out and buying 25 new outfits do you?…

Girls with Pearls . . . and Velvet too

I am so excited for this post y'all because I've teamed up with a fabulous fellow Memphis blogger to bring y'all some style inspiration for this season's hot trends. One of my favorite things about blogging / instagram is seeing how others style current trends or even the same pieces. When Tabitha and I discussed getting together for a collab post we picked the pearl studded trend to both incorporate into our outfit but as it turns out we both added some velvet too. What I love about this is how we have very different looks - I'm tall and plus size while Tabitha is more average in both height and size, different lifestyles - Tabitha is a Mom who works from home while I'm a not yet mom who works in an office, and even different taste - I would say Tabitha' style is classic with an edgy twist while I tend to be pretty feminine in my style ; yet we are both incorporating two current trends into our look and both looks are pretty great if I do say so myself.

Slay in Scarves

I love scarves - you never have to worry about them fitting, they're super cute, and they can completely change a look, plus this time of year they're just practical.

I feel like I've been waiting forever for it to be cold enough to wear this fun scarf, even though in reality I only bought it a month ago. I love the colors in this scarf - pink and turquoise are my two favorite colors - and poms seem to always be in style for the fall and winter. It's also just a fun piece to wear.

Because this scarf is such a statement I decided to wear with my go-to black dress - it's comfortable, flattering and the perfect weight for warmth without adding too much bulk. I bought mine a year ago but it's so great it's available again this season.

Outfit Details: Dress: Nic and Zoe Plus and Similar Nic and Zoe Straight Size
Scarf: Betsy Johnson
Boots: Similar here

Of course, this is just one scarf - the great thing about scarves is there are SOOOOOO many options and each …

California Closets Memphis

So pretty much every blogger and their mother is posting about sales today so I thought I’d approach cyber Monday from a different angle and talk about what to do with all your fab purchases once they arrive. If you’re anything like me you have a bench at the foot if you bed piled with a bunch of clothes that need to be hung up / put away. Don’t get me wrong - my closet has come a long way between moving and purging but there’s still some disorganization which leads to clothes, shoes and purses spilling out into other parts of the house.  When we first started looking at homes a custom closet was pretty high on our wish list but when we found the perfect home the builder had just finished we knew we had to pick our battles when it came to asking for more work when making our offer and as much as I hate the wire rack closets I figured re-doing a closet down the line would be easier than say building out the bonus room; it turns out I was right because California Closets has just opene…

Prep Obsessed Mystery Mailers - 2017 Holiday Season

I might have a slight addiction to Prep Obsessed mystery mailers. The are a great value, the products are always really cute, the t-shirts are so comfortable and flattering, and they get me to try items I might not have purchased on their own, so what's not to love? The latest round of mystery mailers are all about celebrating the holiday season. I have received the Thanksgiving , Black Friday and Thanksgiving Hostess and will be purchasing the Christmas and New Year mailers - they also currently have a Christmas Hostess and several fashion mystery mailers available. I have been purchasing mystery mailers from Prep Obsessed pretty much ever since they started offering them and I have never been disappointed in what I received. For Thanksgiving and Black Friday I purchased a combo mailer which means I got free shipping and a bonus item - they are also doing a Christmas / New Year combo that gives a discount. Here's the bonus item, a super cute Prep Obsessed exclusive tumble…

Shelby Jewel

I really wanted to have this post up yesterday but if you've been following my instagram stories at all you will have seen that I remembered this weekend that I still needed to refinish my dining room table if I had any hopes of using it for Thanksgiving (and yes, I am on track to finish it tonight, Woohoo!) So here I am a day late but not a dollar short with a post on some fun fashion finds. Last week I attended the preview party for a new online boutique started by Memphis Blogger Shelby Jewel. Shelby has beautiful taste so I knew I was interested in checking out her boutique. Nothing says welcome like a glass of Champagne! Racks of beautiful tops Swoon worthy Jackets Pretty Tassel Earrings So, I'll admit I was very nervous about this event, Shelby is very small and most boutique sizes are small as well - I am not. But, I really wanted to see the pretty things and thought hey, you never know. As I predicted clothing is available in S - L but I have found that with some bou…

Target Beauty Box

Since I no longer get Ipsy I thought it would be fun to try the Target beauty box this month. The cost is only $7 and includes a $3 coupon towards my next beauty purchase. Here's what's inside:

Super Aqua Snail Mask $6
Snail mucin beauty products are all the rage right now. Basically women are like seaweed doesn't gross us out anymore, what's something even more nasty we can put on our faces? This was my first time trying a snail product and I'll admit I didn't dislike it . This mask has a jell layer instead of being a paper mask but it's just as easy to use as a paper mask. Allegedly this mask hydrates and heals skin while preventing aging - I don't know about all of that but it did feel nice and I'[m not wearing makeup today and not offended by the way my face looks so I guess that's a good thing.

Tom's Coconut Oil Soap $4
I had high hopes for this - if felt nice going on, I like the scent and it left my bathwater all milky. However, it…

Thanksgiving Essentials

Next week is Thanksgiving and I am soooo excited! Thanksgiving is basically all of my favorite things in one day - chilling in pjs watching the parade, delicious food, family time, and shopping! For the past few years we have gone our for Thanksgiving because the condo was not wheelchair friendly for my grandmother and my dad moved out of town but this year we're going back to having Thanksgiving at home and while I'm sad we won't have my grandma this year I am excited to be cooking the Thanksgiving meal again. In my humble opinion Thanksgiving is no time for healthy eating and since everyone has their own favorites I say bring on the carbs - this is what my menu this year will be: 1. Champagne Turkey 2. Stuffing 3. Green Bean Casserole 4. Sweet Potato Casserole 5. Mashed Potatoes 6. Peas 7. Corn Soufflé 8. Broccoli 9. Pillsbury Crescent Rolls 10. Cranberry sauce (from the can of course, I hate it but my family tells me this is the only way to have it) 11. Pie 12. Ma…

Outfit on Repeat

As a blogger one thing I'm guilty of is getting stuck in the mindset that I have to be showing new outfits all the time. While I personally get bored when someone posts the same outfit on repeat over and over again I do enjoy seeing one piece styled multiple ways. Let's be real, I don't treat my clothes like they're disposable and I bet you don't either so seeing pieces worn on repeat and restyled speaks to how we all really live our lives; with that in mind I am going to try to be better about sharing my daily real life fashion.
So, take this outfit for example - I've been posting pics with these pants since I scored them at the Victoria Beckham for Target launch in April. While you may think hot pink pants are just for spring and summer I think adding a denim jacket creates just enough of a seasonal touch to make it work for fall.
I've also been guilty of feeling like I couldn't share an outfit because the exact piece is no longer available (total p…
