Victoria Beckham for Target Guesses

April is going to be a big month for fashion in my life! Not only is it Memphis Fashion Week but also the Victoria Beckham for Target collaboration will be released on April 9th. I'm so excited and can't decide if the other Memphis fashionistas will be excited too so I'm thinking it's going to be another early morning to get there when the store opens.

While the look book has not yet be released (based on prior collaboration timing it should be released sometime in the next two weeks) I feel like VB is consistent enough that we should have a decent idea of what to expect. VB has already stated that the collection will be similar to her Victoria  Victoria Beckham line early designs.

Here's a pre 2017 piece currently available on a fashion discount site:

Just based on this and the promo pic alone it looks like VVB sticks to classic pieces with touches of a feminine feel - this is my ultimate closet makeover aesthetic goal hence why I'm VERY excited for this collection.  Based on current trends and VVB styles I've seen here's what I'm hoping to get from this collaboration. These are just my personal speculations, I'll be sure to do a post with my favorite looks once the look book is released and let y'all know if I was right or not.

Flounce hem dress

I would LOVE to get something like this from the collection and the flounce hem appears in several VVB collections so I feel like this is part of her signature style and it would be a shame if it was not included in the collection.

Waist emphasizing cuts

A lot of VVB items are made to bring focus on the waist which again plays into the feminine classic style. I would expect a few curve hugging pieces and fitted tops. I love the fitted yet flowy look of this particular top and would be sure to grab one if a similar one was at target.

Bell Sleeves

Fun sleeves are so in right now and I see VB really embracing this with both of her collections so I hope she brought this 8into the target collection as well. This is a mass production line though so I wouldn't expect to see the extreme details like in designer lines but think a bell sleeve or small ruffle would be a way to bring this trend into the target line.

I also expect to see at least one piece that incorporates a bow, work friendly blouses, trousers with a slight flare, simple designed large bags, aviator sunglasses and simple strappy shoes. If my guesses are right I'm going to have a very hard time deciding what to get.

Hello Fresh Review

One problem with our last house was that the kitchen was a little small, but with our new kitchen we really have no excuse to not cook at home. To start us off on the right foot I started a Hello Fresh subscription.

Subscribers get to select from 8 meals on the weekly menu and can get two or four portions of each meal and 3, 4 or 5 meals per box. We get 4 meals and the cost of the box is $10 / portion / meal - so $80. Each menu also features one premium meal  for an extra $5 / portion.
For our first box I'm sharing step by step with two meals here because I don't think just showing one gives a fair overview of the box. Each box comes with the meat individually packaged, the ingredients per meal all in one brown bag and a recipe card that shows pictures, lists out materials needed and provides step by step instructions. It seems like all the meals involve six steps.

The first meal we made was a fish dish.

The first step was to roast the potatoes with oil in the oven.

Saying Goodbye

If we're friends on Facebook than you might have picked up on why I didn't blog last week - my grandmother passed away last Wednesday. I know I said I want to keep this blog focused on specific topics and less emotional one but the reality is I write it and while I have a whole list of topics I had planned on blogging last week and this week I feel like it's just not right. I still have a few "personal" posts up - my one about being motherless and childless had some readership over the past week being that Sunday was Mother's Day - and today I'm going to add one more personal post. As y'all know my husband and I are moving in June and I'm so glad that on our last "social" day together (we saw her several days in the hospital before she passed) we got to show my Grandma our new house. Our current condo isn't very wheelchair friendly so for the past few years we have been going out to eat on holidays and we were really excited to hos…

Wardrobe Wednesday - Currently Craving

Although my clothing is mostly unpacked and hanging in the closet I still have all my shoes and accessories in boxes and although I purchased a few items in May as part of my Wardrobe Makeover blogging about them is going to have to wait another week. Today though instead of talking about what I have bought I thought I'd share a few items that I'd like to buy.
Society Plus Whimsy Bow Skirt $52.79 I love this skirt so much, which also comes in blush BTW, and I pretty much want to copy the entire look here. This skirt is named after the Whimsy and Wonder blog and the bow and length really matches my style. I feel like I already have a blush skirt so I should get the purple but I also feel like purple is better in fall and winter so I should wait to purchase. Sam Edelman Yumi Heeled Sandal $120 Mules are really in style right now and trend reports indicate this will carry into the fall. I had a nude pump on my wardrobe wish list for the year and I've yet to find one so I tho…

Sephora Play The Iconic Edition

In addition to my regular Play box this month I also received a special edition box exclusively available to Rouge VIB members for $20
This bag features six high end iconic beauty items and a style book. I got it mostly out of curiosity to try the products inside. Here's what's included: La Mer - The Moisturizing Soft Cream $170
This is one of the most famous (and expensive) skin creams in the world. It certainly smells nice and makes the skin feel soft and smooth. For the price point though I'd have to give the full sample jar a try to make a decision because $170 per ounce is a lot of money and I do like the moisturizer I use currently.
Guerlain Radiance Face Primer $74
Ok, so here's where I have a problem with this product - if I'm using an expensive moisturizer to give me "natural radiance" than why do I need a $74 primer to give me radiance? This goes on very smooth and does give a nice soft radiance but I feel like there are other products out there…

Summer Beauty

I feel like Memorial is really the kickoff to summer but if you want to be technical yesterday was the first day of summer and it got me thinking about how I change up my beauty routine for summer. I know that it's recommended to change up beauty routines seasonally but I find that I can get away with the same routine for fall, spring and winter  - but summer is a different story and I find myself with different needs during the hot and humid Memphis summer months. Here's some of my summer beauty favorites.

Ogx Quenching Sea Mineral Moisturizing Lotion $7.99 I love this lotion because it's not to thick but not watery thin and it does a good job of keepings skin soft and moisturized without being greasy - plus the nice light sea scent is great for this time of year.
Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt $19 This shampoo scrub is great of a once a week gently deep cleansing and get hair squeaky clean - I find it really preps hair to accept the moisture of a…
