Prep Obsessed Mermaid Mystery Mailer

Ugh, the only thing I dislike about vacation is how I tend to lose track of time. I had all these great plans of catching up on blogging but here I am with my first post of the week on Thursday - opps! Better late than never I guess. Today I have a super cute mystery mailer from the girls at Prep Obsessed to share with you - the Mermaid Mailer!

I LOVE Mystery Mailers from Prep Obsessed but this one might be my favorite yet. Each mailer is $39.99 and includes one tee, one canvas tote, two jewelry items, one drink hugger, and one surprise items all with a mermaid theme. Each mailer will contain different items but here's what I got in mine to show an example of the quality and value:

I'm Really a Mermaid tee

OMG, this tee is so soft, it's my fifth of this style from Prep Obsessed and I will keep buying mailers that contain them. Every mailer's screen print will be the same but the colors vary - I was very happy to receive this pretty teal. This shirt is also available for individual purchase for $29.99 - see, I told you the mailer is a good value!

Canvas Tote

The prints of the totes vary but are made with heat transfer vinyl. This tote is the perfect size to be your summer time bag but I'm currently using mine to carry all my odds and ends to the beach.

Drink Hugger

Summer weather calls for cool beverages so it's no surprise that a drink hugger would be included. Mine matches my tee in color and print but I do believe these vary.

Jewelry Items

My jewelry items are a pretty seashell necklace and mermaid scale stud earrings. From the preview Prep Obsessed posted of this mailer it looks like everyone receives the earring (color varies I'm sure) but the necklaces are various styles. I really love that my tow pieces are coordinating colors.

Surprise Item

Mine seems to have not made it's way onto my luggage but I'm loving this silicone luggage tag.

It's pretty rare for me to love everything inside a mystery mailer or subscription box but I absolutely do with this one. In addition to this mailer there are unicorn, pineapple and flamingo themed ones currently available - what a great way to stock up on some season accessories!

Vi Peel

2018 Update: Hello Internet! Welcome to my most popular blog post - I presume you're here because you're considering getting a facial peel. Please keep in mind this is an old post and my photo quality is not great. Please feel free to read and enjoy but I do want to let you know that as the years have passed I have taken a more proactive approach with my skin care and I do not get frequent peels. If you'd like to see my modern approach to skincare check out some of my other beauty posts and I'd love for you to connect with me on Instagram to keep up with my latest and greatest recommendations.

Hello! So I got my first Vi Peel which I was super excited about. Since the Botox post was popular I figure y'all would like this too. Besides, it's well established I'm beyond any sense of privacy or shame here.
I got my first peel years ago - a mild Glycolic peel added onto my fac…

Anti Aging High vs Low Review

I recently received the Iconic Edition of the Sephora Play Box (read my review here) and one of the products I was most excited to try out was Crème de La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream because well it's super famous and also hella expensive so of course I wanted to know what's the big deal. The .24 oz sample included was enough for about two week's use - so a one ounce jar would last about 2 months. About a week in as I was getting ready in the morning I starting noticing that my skin did indeed look different - I looked clearer and under my eyes my lines looked a little softer and my circles less dark. I took this selfie to document my skins look - because #vain - plus I knew I would need it for this longer review. I think there's still room for improve with my skin's texture but it had only been a week.
My problem was that a month's supply - the .5 oz jar - is $85 and while that might not seem bad to some it is in major conflict with my goal of being fina…

20 Rules for Modern Feminine Style

One of the things I love about the digital age is the ability to connect with others! I recently got a great idea from a youtuber I follow to make a list of 20 "rules" that define my lifestyle and I really loved this idea and thought not only would this be a good exercise for myself but a good topic to share with y'all. So, obviously you do you and wear whatever you want but these are my guidelines for my modern feminine without breaking the bank aesthetic.
1. Focus on pieces with wear ability beyond one season, don't get sucked into too many trends. For example, gingham will always be wearable for summer, plaid for fall, sweaters for winter and floral for spring - but get pieces with classic cuts so you can wear them year after year. For example, a gingham shirt dress is classic, a gingham top with bell sleeves will look dated the second that shape is out. 2. Don't be afraid to spend a little more for quality timeless pieces - a cashmere sweater, a great blac…

Date Box - Sushi Making

Happy Monday friends! Let's start the week with something exciting - A GIVEAWAY! Y'all know I love subscription boxes and the most fun of the ones I receive is Date Box. Date Box puts together a fun date night idea and sends all the supplies right to our door. Confession - I have a stack of four boxes we haven't used. Honestly - space has been an issue but all of that will change soon as we move ot our new house. AND, since we'll be focusing on furnishing our home having a back log of boxes (ie dates without spending money) will be really nice. This month the folks at Date Box included a gift card for a free box to giveaway so checkout my instagram to enter.   But first, let me show you our most recent box:
This month's date is a sushi making night and includes the materials needed to make the sushi and a shopping list for the fresh ingredients. One thing I really like about Date Box is that it gives you great ideas that you could repeat by using the included too…

What’s in the bag : Toiletry Essentials to Pack for Your Next Trip

I’ve  been traveling so much lately so I’ve pretty much got packing down to a science. Planning for a trip can be stressful so I’m here to make it a little easier for you and talk about the necessities, today were specifically talking about what’s in the toiletry bag. As a special treat I have teamed up with Smile Brilliant for a giveaway at the end of this post!!! When thinking about necessities I first think about the things I don’t need - hotels always have shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer so I never bring my own to save space.  I then think about what items I use at home that I can go without for the week vs. what I use everyday. I also try to think about  products that are good for multipurpose; facial oil is a great example as I use it for a makeup remover at night , a moisturizer in the morning and I also use a small amount on the ends of my hair. Through this I’ve been able to narrow it down to only ten items.
1. Hairbrush

2. Deodorant

3. Toothbrush

4. Toothpaste

5. Facia…
