Mommy Lhey Little Bits June 2017

Since the move and realizing how many craft supplies I already have I've been trying to cut back on my crafting / planning supplies spending but I still really enjoy receiving my Mommy Lhey Little Bits box as a monthly treat.

The June box had a wonderfully bright and cheery tropical theme, look at all the goodness included inside:

Yes, I know it's a lot for one photo - here's a breakdown of all the items:

The patterned papers

This is the 4th month in a rom Mommy Lhey has included a traveler's notebook cover in the kit - this month's is yellow which is perfect for summer. There's a cactus clip, sequins, puffy stickers, journaling cards, a pen pouch and a pineapple notepad.

That's not all! We also received a pineapple pen, washi tape, a flamingo planner charm, stamps, die cuts and eight sticker sheets.

I used the stickers and washi for my planner layout this week:

This kit is about $30 shipped and ships the last week of the month. Sign ups are currently open for August boxes , you have until July 18th if you'd like to join.

Mommy Lhey also recently had a summer sale and offered some grab bags and past kits, which of course I had to take advantage of. This Parisian themed set was the November 2016 box, this grab bag is missing the clip, charm and notepad that came with the full kit. I'm in LOVE!

I also purchased the January 2017 kit which has a fun photo theme

The quality and cute style is consistent among all the kits but it's interesting to see how the kit has evolved as the subscription base has increased. Purchasing products is all about volume discounts so has there have been more subscribers Mommy Lhey has been able to increase the amount of stuff in the kits - like offering a pouch and TN cover in each kit. I've never met her but this tells me a lot about Lhey as a person - the kit has always been a great value so she could have just let her margin increase as she received volume discounts - but of course I love that she increased the value of each box to her subscribers.

I'm so glad to subscribe to this kit and receiving it each months brings a big smile and warm fuzzies as I know the love that goes into each kit. I cannot recommend this kit enough!

10 Year Challenge

Earlier this week I shared an image encouraging people to think about their accomplishments over the past ten years rather than how their looks have changed and listed all the positive things that have happened in my own life. It's not that I mind sharing pics of what I looked like 10 years ago but just sharing a picture doesn't tell the whole story. I had a lot of people respond congratulating me on my accomplishments and while I appreciate that it made me realize my intention was never to brag or say oh, look how great my life has been because the past ten years have been years of struggle and success.
Here you see a girl who thinks she's the life of the party - she's 24 and has practically no responsibilities but I don't envy her or wish I could return to that lifestyle.
Meanwhile, you look at this 34 year old woman and you see she's changed the way she treats her hair, she has some lines around the eyes and roundness to her face that wasn't there befo…

Timeless Style of a Natural Stone Watch

Hello Friends! I hope 2018 wrapped up nicely for you and you're watching out for opportunities in the new year. I love gifting to others but let's be real - I also love treating myself which is why I'm so excited to be wearing a new watch into the new year! Plus- it's perfect for my New Year's resolution to be on time more in 2019. Don't worry - I have a treat for you too at the end of this post.

Last year I received a beautiful wooden watch (which I still love BTW) but there have been times when I 've  wanted something a little more elegant on my wrist. The folks at Jord must have been reading my mind because they just released the new Sier Arcadia collection featuring interchangeable leather and mesh bands and natural stone faces. Each style is truly beautiful but I was drawn to the Sodalite and Gold style because it's unique from any watch I've seen. I tend to wear a lot of blues so this unique style really compliments my wardrobe. The only oth…

Hello Kitty Tea

A few months ago I was scrolling on instagram and I saw some posts about a place called The Hello Kitty Grand Café. Now I had stopped by the Hello Kitty Café food truck when it rolled through Memphis (check out my post on that here) but this looked to be taking the experience to the next level. After digging into it I discovered that The Hello Kitty Grand Café was not far from my in-law’s home in Southern California and lucky for me we had trip already planned. The Hello Kitty Grand Café operates with several functions – the front section of the location operates just like the food truck with a menu of sweets and drinks, anyone can walk in for counter service and there are a few tables in addition to some photo spots available. In the back is The Bow Room which offers a pre-fixe tea menu during the day and turns into a cocktail lounge in the evenings. Reservations are currently taken through Yelp and open up 30 days in advance- while weekend reservations can be hard to come by its a l…

Go WILD, Y'all

I'm writing this post with a serious case of the Mondays as I'm recovering from Go Wild this past week. Go Wild is the annual conference run by the Wild for Planners group and it is so much fun! This year's conference was in Nashville and while there is was announced that 2018 will be in Austin, TX. In addition to bringing planner enthusiasts together this event also presents the opportunity to hear from great speakers, meet planner  / planner goodies suppliers and the part that people to notice the most - awesome swag.   I first found out about the group last year when some planner girls I followed posted on instagram about the conference. To an outsider it looks like oh fun, planner girls gathering and getting tons of swag - I want to go! But the reality is it's so much for than that and to be perfectly honest if you're only interested in the swag you'd be better off staying home and going on a shopping spree. Since everyone wants to know the most though wha…

Birthday Discounts

Woohoo! It's my birthday week y'all! Birthdays are always a great time for brands to make customers special and each year I'm able to take advantage of some pretty good discounts in July so I thought I would share the love and talk about some of my favorite discounts and how to get them.

My absolute favorite discount is from Kendra Scott! During your birthday month you can receive one regular item at 50% off. It's your first time you'll have to show your id in store and sign up for their email list but then once they have you on file you can just go into the store and say that you would like to apply your birthday discount to your purchase and give your email address. This year I purchased the Tatiana Long Pendant Necklace which usually sells for $175. This necklace takes the look of the popular Rayne necklace and really amps it up.
If jewelry is your thing you can also get a $10 credit from Charming Charlie - this discount is sent to Charm Rewards members at the…
