Mommy Lhey Little Bits July and August

I've been terrible about sharing my Little Bits boxes lately, which is really crappy of me because they are so beautiful and definitely deserve to be shared.

Each kit comes with patterned papers (double sided), a pouch, notebook, pen, stickers, decorative paper clip, die cuts, washi tape, sequins, sticky notes, clear stamps, a planner charm and bookmarks or dashboards. Trust me, it's a big bang for your buck. To me there's two things that really make the Mommy Lhey kit stand out - while each planner designer is going to have their own aesthetic some tend to follow the same theme every month and it gets well - boring. June had a cactus theme, July is florals and pretty dresses, August does have some floral but has a much sassier feel and September is going to be woodland animals; it's always fun and exciting to see what the theme will be each month and I love that Mommy Lhey releases the theme before the sign up dates so you can decide if it's for you or not. The other thing that makes Mommy Lhey stand out is the diversity - no matter the theme Mommy Lhey does include some doll characters in each kit and there is always women of color included  - most kits either include white women or leave the skin blank so they can be "colored in" but I really appreciate Mommy Lhey's approach that hey, it's not offensive or even weird really to have cute planner dolls in different colors.

Here's the bigger items for July - the pouch and traveler's notebook with the patterned papers:

Here's the entire kit minus the charm ad clip because I already had those in another planner:

Here's the August pouch and notebook with the patterned papers:

And the entire August kit, minus the pen:

In addition to all these goodies each kit comes with digital papers and designs. Seriously, it's a lot of cuteness and a lot of planner goods for one subscription.

If you are looking for a planner subscription or if you're getting into planning and want a notebook and some starter goodies I strongly recommend getting a Mommy Lhey kit. Sign ups are the 1st through 18th for the next month (so sign up by Oct 18th to receive the November kit). Later this week I'll post the September kit, which is also great and has an exciting change that makes these kits even better!

**This post features a subscription I purchased with my own money, all opinions are my own. This is not a sponsored post, I just really love Mommy Lhey**

Sephora Play April 2017

This month's Sephora Play box featured some of the top selling Sephora products, here's what's inside:

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
I currently use this primer and it helps my foundation go on smooth and keeps my face from getting too oily during the day. It's light weight and has no scent and one tube lasts a really long time - I bought mine before my wedding and that was six months ago.

Make Up For Ever Aqua XL eyeliner
The Make Up For Ever brand is very popular at Sephora and very nice quality products. This eyeliner doesn't smudge and goes on smooth.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream
This is a primer / moisturizer combo and I really like the way it feels - very light weight and makes my skin feel silky

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate
This says it's an "intense exfoliator" but I found it to be very fine. The paste is ather think and a yucky green color with a heavy plant scent, but hey if it works who cares what it looks like.

Memphis Fashion Week 2017 Emerging Designers

The last night of Memphis Fashion Week is the favorite night for many local fashionistas because it shows off what is up and coming in our city. Once again I was able to grab a great seat and see the pieces up close.

First up for the evening was two time previous winner Tiena. I think it's easy to see why she's won twice before - just wow on these beautiful designs!

I love the model's expression here - it's like she just loves wearing this so much she can't contain it.

I love all of it but the yellow ruffle dress has to be my favorite, it's not a color I would typically be drawn to but there's something so nice about it!
Next up was the teen collection, these pieces were designed by beautiful young ladies all under 20. Once again, I am a complete and total life slacker. Seriously - I was blown away by how talented these girls are:

Mommy Lhey Little Bits Box April 2017

Yesterday my 2nd Little Bits Box arrived and I am so in love! One thing I think is really great about this subscription is that there's the option to pre-order a month at a time (it's $5 more than subscribing) and there's any option to cancel without having to give two month's notice - this is great if a particular month's theme just isn't for you or life happens and you need to take a break. The April theme is "Believe in Magic" and features whimsical creatures such as fairies and unicorns. Let's take a look inside: I know that's a lot to look at so I'll break down the items for you. First up is the sticker sheets - each box comes with eight sheets and they are very high quality stickers and able to be used in a variety of planners:
I can't imagine this will be any every month item but in March we received pocket size travelers notebooks and this month we received personal size. These notebooks are so cute and I love the matching …

Happy Monday! Today I have my last MFW coverage post to share with y'all featuring the singles and mini collections.

Memphis Fashion Week 2017 Kickoff Event

Last night Memphis Fashion Week started with a kickoff event at The Lab. MFW is run by Memphis Fashion Design Network and The Lab is the office / creative space for Memphis designers. Read more about it here . The Kickoff Party featured products from designers participating in this week's event and offered fashionistas the opportunity to meet the designers and shop their wares. Although there were many beautiful pieces on hand I decided to wait on purchases but did go home and follow some of the favorites I saw on social media so I can keep up with them for the future. I've been setting aside most of my fashion money for the past two months to shop the Victoria Beckham collection at Target that's being released on Sunday - it's a big week for fashion! Some of my favorite fashions from the event: Tiena Gwin  Sheila J Designs This dress is reversible - how fun!  Beg and Borrow
Accessories I loved but didn't get a chance to photograph were Brave Design, a local jewelry d…
