Easy At Home Teeth Whitening

Recently I was asked to submit a headshot and y'all I was so embarrassed - my teeth were yellow! So I decided to use the Smile Brilliant teeth whitening system to take care of it - sure I could just edit my photos to make my teeth look white but I'd rather have a bright white IRL smile.

Over the years I have used many whitening products - toothpaste, lights, strips and make at home trays but the reality is no matter how great the solution is getting it to stay on the teeth is the key to whitening and there's simply no match for a custom fit tray - which is exactly what Smile Brilliant offers.

In order to get a custom tray without having to visit the dentist  Smile Brilliant provides the materials needed to make molds of the teeth at home to be sent off for fitting. When I received my kit it came with all the instructions and enough materials to make three molds - this way if I got it wrong on the first try it was no big deal - I had enough materials to try again. However, I found the instructions to be perfect and the process of making my molds to be less complicated than I expected and the package even included the envelope to send the molds in. About five days later I received my custom fit trays and it was time for the whitening to begin.

Smile Brilliant recommends wearing the custom tray with whitening gel for up to two hours as often as needed and includes a desensitizing gel. I found that wearing the trays for two hours every other day fit my schedule best and allowed me to avoid sensitivity issues without needing the desensitizing gel. I noticed a difference within the first few uses but of course I wanted to maximize my results so used all four syringes provided over a month.

Now that I've completed the process I have a whiter smile - no editing required!

Getting hair care customized for your hair sounds complicated but the process was very simple as a consumer - I took a brief survey about my hair's current condition and what my hair goals were - you can pick up to five. This is Us

Y’all this year I was so excited for our anniversary activity - the 2nd anniversary traditional gift is cotton and there was a cotton field nearby. The website said “mid October” would be the perfect time for pictures so I booked a session for our anniversary weekend on the 21st. We stop by the field the day before to check it out and it was all gone. Even though no harvest date was listed on the website a week earlier it had since been updated that the cotton was harvested that Friday – seriously, they couldn’t have given one more weekend for photos, grr! All the other cotton fields were too far away so I cried how our anniversary was ruined. We wound up moving photos to the same spot where we took our wedding photos and brought along the dogs to get our family Christmas card photo. This session did not go as well as I would have liked – Because I didn’t plan to originally have the dogs sweetie was not freshly groomed. My brand new sweater got snagged by one of the dogs getting in and…

Wardrobe Wednesday - What I wore to Memphis Fashion Week

I must admit I'm pretty proud of the outfits I put together for Memphis Fashion Week so I figured they deserved a blog post of their own. I definitely feel like spending four day around fashion and really trying to put my most stylish foot forward set me on track to up my fashion game this year, plus the VBxTarget collection released right after so that helped too (I'll have a post on that soon). Overall though these four outfits were a good example of mixing what I already owned with new and restyling some existing pieces in new ways.
Earrings: Kate Spade - these are out but there's always cute ones on sale Necklace: Anthropologie (this is from 2013) Top: Nicole by Nicole Miller
To start of the events I wore my most casual outfit to the kickoff event. I was under the mis-impression that Nicole Miller (the headliner designer for MFW 2017) would be there so I wore a Nicole by Nicole Miller top. It's actually off the shoulders but got pulled up a little from me razing m…

Why I Blog

Years before I had an instagram account I had a Yelp account and I must admit that my very first review was a terrible 1 star review. While I think honest good and bad experiences are valuable on review sites I realized that's not the person I wanted to be. Instead of only putting negative thoughts into the world I challenged myself that for every negative review to take the time to write five positive reviews. Soon I found myself gushing over businesses I love and writing reviews of businesses I was trying for the first time. Within a few months I was invited to join the Elite squad - now I  have over 250 reviews and have reached gold elite status - this means I've been on the squad for five years. As much as I enjoy sharing reviews I enjoy reading them. I'm a planner and researcher by nature so before I go anywhere I want to know as much as possible. For example, when we go out to California we're going to have tea at the Hello Kitty Grand Café - I have read every …
