Find your perfect Wedding Guest Dress

Find your perfect Wedding Guest Dress

Before social distancing was a thing I had a busy Spring planned out – wine festival, Easter, wedding, planner conference along with Saturday brunches, date nights and general fun. And so I stocked up on pretty dresses to wear to all these fabulous events. Now like many I find myself all dressed up with no where to go. But I’m never one to be afraid of overdressing so I find myself ready to enjoy cocktails on the couch and brunches for two (plus dogs). I always strive to select items I see myself wearing long term so while I’m sad these items can only be shown off virtually I know that when I do leave the house again I have just the thing to wear. Many of these dresses in my opinion would make a great wedding guest dress or are perfect for your next party.

Lane Bryant x Beauticurve maxi dress

I purchased this black and white maxi from from the Beauticurve x Lane Bryant collection to wear to the VIP party at the Unwined Festival in PCB. I just love the ruffle hem and that the straps are adjustable to be worn on the shoulder, off or even one shoulder. Black and white is always a classic combo and nothing about this dress screams spring 2020 to me so I feel like it’s a fun event dress I can keep in my closet for years. Since this has a while base I would not wear this as a wedding guest unless the bride specifically ask guests to wear black and white.

Jessica London pink and purple floral maxi dress

Bar Cart

This purple and pink maxi was going to be my daytime tasting Unwined dress. The colors are so fun and vibrant the whole look just screams let’s raise a glass and celebrate. Luckily we just got a new bar cart so I can wear it for cocktails on my couch. This dress was a closer runner up for me to wear to a wedding, it would be perfect dressed up with a wrap and sparkly earrings.

Beauticurve x lane Bryant Palm Print Dress

Another Beauticurve x Lane Bryant item I got this dress to wear on Palm Sunday because I’m a sucker for theme dressing and planned on rewearing in California. Because it has a modest neck and hit me at the knee it’s a dress I’m also comfortable wearing to the office. It’s really comfortable to wear at home too and makes that CVS run extra special. Palm prints are always going to be popular in spring and summer or at the beach so this is another piece I see as being in style forever. I think it would be perfect for a destination wedding (provided the destination is somewhere tropical of course)

Ulla Popken Lace Event Dress

Dress

This lace number seemed like the perfect Easter dress for this year. I love that the v-neck is not too low and it hits me at the knee. While I just love this beautiful blush it also comes in a mint, navy and black. Lace dresses are perfect for events because they look dressy but don’t have a super formal feel. I would steer clear of wear this blush to any wedding type of events but I think you’d be fine in any of the other colors using this as a wedding guest dress.

This fitted lace is the perfect wedding guest dress imo! I already have it in black and wore it for our anniversary last October as well as to a wedding in December. I think we you find what works for you you go with it so I got this in a fun Aqua color for a wedding Shaun is in this year. The classic silhouette makes this dress timeless and the sleeves make it modest enough for most places of worship. If the wedding get pushed to the fall I’ll probably wear it in black again but I’ll be ready to go for the next springtim/ summer wedding. It also comes in pink and purple if you love the shape but aqua isn’t your thing.

Jessica London Pink Eyelet Dress

It gets soooo hot and humid in Memphis so this eyelet dress (which also comes in white) seemed like a great piece for staying cool while looking cute. This is one of those dresses that works for the office or the weekend. The material makes it a little more casual but I think it would be perfect for an outdoor party of wedding.

Beauticurve x Lane Bryant brushstroke skirt

This green brush stroke skirt is my final piece from the Beauticurve x Lane Bryant collection. Although it looks great with solid colored tops I feel like there’s a lot of potential for fun with this one. I’m mixing prints and pairing with sneakers to keep the look youthful and fresh but it could just as easily be dressed up into a prim and proper look.

While I love all these looks I saved my absolute favorite for last. First of all, who doesn’t need a mint metallic skirt in their life? I love the monochromatic look by pairing it with the aqua turtleneck. I actually got to wear this look to work early in March and it got sooo many compliments. It’s definitely the perfect way to dress with an approachable glamour. I really love the pairing with the light turtleneck for a daytime look but I thing this skirt could be dressed up with a different top as a fun alternative to wearing a dress to a dressy event.

I hope you enjoyed my spring look book and it inspires you to dress fabulously at home and be prepared to step up your dress up game when stepping out. I’m always in need of a wedding / party guest dress so while it’s sad to not wear these right now I know their time will come!
