Fall Porch Refresh

I loved the result of putting a little effort into our front porch this past spring so much that I decided to bring it this fall! I mixed things we already had with some new pieces for this look.

This year we purchased new wreaths for our double doors instead of the initials we have had up year round on the past, I think it really brings the fall look together! When selecting a wreath I recommend going with the largest that will fit on your front door but are still practical. Our are super lightweight. We use command hooks to hang rather than nailing into the wood.

I really love the look of pumpkins for a fall porch but it’s pain to haul new ones around every year so two years ago we bought some faux stacked pumpkin topiaries and a initial “carved” pumpkin. You can still find similar variations of these items. I love when people with stairs to their porch have pumpkins on each step but topiaries are a great way to get that stacked look if your porch is flat like mine.

We kept the white lanterns we added in the spring but also added these adorable dog topiaries! I will most likely keep them up year round but swap out their little bandanas seasonally. We also swapped out the large stripe rug for more size appropriate black and white buffalo check. I like that this rug works for both fall and winter! It’s ok to have a few base pieces you keep year round, or at least work for multiple seasons.

Finally, when we were at the pumpkin patch they were selling corn stalk bundles for $6 so I said hey, why not! These are just tied to our posts with twine but would look really pretty with ribbon as well.

I think our front porch definitely says that we are excited for fall and I love the way it looks! I hope you enjoyed this look at our front porch and it inspired you to have fun with decor at your home!
