Rainbow Sweater Three Way Style

Rainbow Sweater Three Way Style

I knew I needed this Pastel rainbow sweater the moment I saw it! I’ve really been into pastels the past year and it reminded me of my favorite doll as a kid – rainbow bright – down to the shoulder ruffles.

As I like to do with most pieces in my closet before purchasing I paused to think if I had three different items in my closet I could wear it with. While I’ve been seeing other people wear this sweater with jeans I knew I would want to play with the colors and decided it could pair several skirts in my closet.

I started off with my childhood inspo and created a grown up rainbow bright look by pairing it with one of my favorite skirts – a mint metallic midi skirt and gold heels. Sadly I didn’t have any star earrings to play off rainbow bright’s star birthmark so I wore pink acrylic bow earrings. Heart sunnies gave another whimsical nod to complete the look.

Because the sweater just screams girly style I felt like pairing with pink would be very natural. I kept the same bag but swapped out the shoes to a pair of bow heels that have some of the same colors. Mine are sold out but are available in solid colors – these shoes are pricey but I saw myself wearing them a lot so I asked for and received them for Christmas. I also already had a pair of pastel tie dye acrylic earrings and the colors were too perfect not to wear with this sweater.

For my final look I decided to go bold and pair with yellow. Although a little brighter than the yellow in the in the sweater I think it makes for a playful and cheerful outfit. Since this pairs two statement pieces together I kept accessories to a minimum.

So let’s talk details:

This Sweater is available up to XL but does run large. I typically wear an XXL in sweaters but an wearing the XL here. It follows the current trend in sweaters of having a shorter length so my personal style preference is to wear it tucked in to high waisted item.

I love to pair new items with things I already love in my closet but my exact yellow and pink skirts are not available as I have had them for years. A practically identical pink skirt is available here . My mint metallic skirt is still available! I also have several skirt recommendations, including a yellow one, on my LIKEtoKNOW.it post .

I get a lot of my earrings from Coras Den – they make a fun statement but are super lightweight acrylic material. Use code Mandysue10 to save 10% on your order.

My bag is actually a “fancy lunch bag”, aka insulated bag from Modern Picnic. I like using it for travel because I can stuff it with snacks for the trip and then just use it as a regular purse. If you’d like a bag of your own use code AB15 to save 15% off your order.

The best price I found on my shoes in gold is here . They are a little narrow imo and most reviews recommend sizing up half a size, I would up going a full size from my traditional size and found the fit to be good.

I hope you enjoyed this look and it has inspired you to mix and match things in your own closet.
