Draper James Fall 2021

Draper James Fall 2021

I love clothes but it’s important to me when shopping to get pieces that are timeless and will go with pieces already in my wardrobe. Over the years Draper James has become a favorite brand of mine because the sizing and quality is consistent and they always offer pieces that are timeless and feminine, which is pretty much my style goal.

Another thing I love about Draper James is that we will see the same silhouette offered in new prints each season so when there is a piece I really love I can have it in multiple prints. Here’s a look back at my favorite pieces from the Fall 2021 collection which included some of my established favorite styles and new silhouettes.

The kitty dress is my absolute all time favorite Draper James dress and this fall it came in Navy Magnolia (xs to xxl) and Gingham (xs to 3xl). I find this dress to run large and prefer the 2x but can also take the xxl – these are very similar fits but I find the 2xl has a little more room in the chest vs the xxl.

Another favorite silhouette is the Loretta Shirt Dress (xs to 3xl). I love this feminine twist on a classic shirt dress and love the cotton fabric that has just the slightest hint of stretch to it! I could wear a 2x in this dress but prefer the 3x for a little more room in the chest. It does get belted so the extra room in the waist doesn’t bother me.

The Reba Wrap Dress (0 to 24) is another repeat silhouette for me. The cotton fabric is soooo comfortable and I love anything with a riffle. I wear the 24 in this style as it is a little snug in the arms but since it’s a wrap I can get a perfect fit on the waist. Sizing up does make it a little big in the chest area so I will layer with a tank.

The Kacey Faux Wrap Dress (xs to 3xl) is a repeat silhouette for Draper James but this us my first time wearing it. I find it runs true to size and I am wearing the 3x (22/24). The chiffon fabric makes this one a little more dressy – but that also makes it the perfect wedding guest dress! I love the smocked waist and flutter sleeve and know this is going to be a go-to dress for going out for years to come.

The print above also comes in a top but I decided to try the Kacey Smocked Waist Top (xs to 3xl) in the black floral print. This top gives the same pretty look as the dress with a bit more versatility as it can be mixed with other pieces – I am wearing it in a very casual manner here but plan on wearing it with faux leather pants now that the temps are finally cool. (BTW, you can also get this print is the dress)

Another new style that I hope makes a comeback is the Waterfall Skirt (xs to 3xl). I always get a 3x when I get a new silhouette (better safe than sorry) and it works for me but the elastic waist has a lot of stretch so the 2x would have been a better fit. You can see this skirt as one of my three way style features here.

Another new style I tried this fall is the Natalie Belted Cardigan (xs to 3xl). I love the Natalie Sweatshirt so how could I resist it in a cardigan version. Natalies are meant to be fitted rather than oversized and I am wearing my 3x loose for a more casual feel.

Last but certainly not least are is the Linda Pajama Set (xs to 3xl). This is my 5th set of Draper James pajamas and I cannot get over how soft and comfortable they are! I find the top runs true to size but the bottom run pretty large – I wear the 3x so the top buttons and is loose on my large chest but if this is not a concern for you do size down.

I hope this review helps you find a new style or two to try!

  1. Love all the styles! My favorite is Natalie Belted Cardigan! I need to get down to their store in Atlanta, it’s only 45 mins away.
